the GazettE LIVE TOUR 2011 "VENOMOUS CELL" 2011/10/10 at Tokyo International Forum Hall A

the GazettE LIVE TOUR 2011 "VENOMOUS CELL"
2011/10/10 at Tokyo International Forum Hall A

With the release of their fifth full studio album "TOXIC", the GazettE headed towards a new frontier in Visual-kei. It was not just about the visual aspects of the members' costumes and looks, but the over all visual artwork and means of expression that goes hand in hand with each track of the album.

This became even more apparent with the opening performance of their tour "VENOMOUS CELL", which started at the SOLD OUT Tokyo International Forum only days after the album release.

While the writing "VC" was displayed in huge LED letters in the back of the stage during the standby period, each and every song was underlined with its unique lighting, video and CG sequences.

"INFUSE INTO" opened the set with quickly changing pictures as the band members came on stage, each taking their spots, almost unnoticed, yet of course amongst the cheers of the audience.

The visuals for "VENOMOUS SPIDER`S WEB" opened simply with the words rapidly flashing by, underlining the hard rhythms and the electronic sounds, which the GazettE made to fit together perfectly. The hall was shaking with excitement during each song, where especially the title track of the album "THE SUICIDE CIRCUS" caused the hall to cheer.

However, the audience celebrated the previous songs like "VORTEX", "HEADACHE MAN", "AGONY" or "Hyena" just as much as each new tracks, which created a complete new scene every time.

Songs like "痴情 / CHIJYOU " and "MY DEVIL ON THE BED" had a blunt sexual appeal, be it due to the snake draping itself around a woman's body on the screen, or RUKI's enticing moves with a cane together with the sexy bass lines from Reita. All the while, songs like "Maggots" or "PSYCHOPATH" expressed pure aggression. The fans moved accordingly, head banging wildly, pumping their fists and not giving in to the moments of silence between the songs. Instead they shouted out the names of the band members vigorously.

A different kind of aggression was shown with "RUTHLESS DEED", which was still as powerful as the previous songs, but movements slowed and the tunes were pulling more on the inside; sorrowful and emotionally straining. It had calmed the audience, to perfectly lead into "UNTITLED", which had the audience listen not only with their ears but with their hearts. The shooting-star-like lights wandering over the screen expressed the feeling of the song in all its simplicity and together with the howling guitars of Uruha and Aoi, eventually burst into applause.

"It's been six years since we last played here. It doesn't feel that long at all", RUKI said during his MC. "We have grown a little, though. From here we are starting the new tour and looking at you right here, I am already pleased. There are a lot of new songs, but let's create the mood and flow for all of them together."

"I love you", he added under his breath, but it was received with all the fans cheers and hearts, and it never mattered, how often the band had expressed their compassion for the audience in one way or the other, it was taken in again and again with gratitude.

"The main set was finished with "OMEGA", rounding up the visuals with references to the opening as the band members disappeared from stage for a while.

As it is the GazettE tradition, Reita and Kai were the first to return, presenting their new version of "RIDE WITH THE ROCKERS". The drum and bass duet was followed by the GazettE latest single "REMEMBER THE URGE", which in contrast to the songs from TOXIC seemed much lighter, making it a good opener for the encore.
"BREAK ME" caught the audience by surprise, as it was not only a coupling track from "VORTEX", but also with a number of huge black and white balloons that were thrown into the audience just for fun.

However, the complete set was finished off with well known "classics" and the fans' all-time favorites "COCKROACH" and "DISCHARGE", before demanding everything from the audience once again when finishing with " LINDA ~candidive Pinky heaven~" in the well known manner.

It showed without a doubt, that the old and the new the GazettE songs can fit together perfectly without repeating themselves nor without sounding awkward together.

With this performance the GazettE have certainly shown that Visual-kei, has its name for more reasons than just the looks of the members. They carry the visuals of their art work and their performance to a new level in perfect synchrony, with the spice of being daringly blunt in their way of expression.

SuG

SuG is a band formed in 2006. The band has released one EP and several singles, and was signed to Indie PSC, a subdivision of PS Company, before going major with PONY CANYON in early 2010.
The name "SuG" is derived from the transliteration of the English word "thug", written in Japanese as Sagu (サグ). The name is then simplified to the slightly more romantic "Sug".

Vocalist Takeru and guitarists Masato and Yuji had previously performed in a band called Travel. After Travel disbanded, they joined with AmeriA's bassist, Shouta, to form Sug in October 2006. The drummer Mitsuru then joined in November of the same year.
Shouta left the band in February and was replaced by Chiyu on bass. Their first release was "7th Breeze" on the compilation album Cannonball Vol. 03. The band signed to the visual-kei label PS Company, and in August 2007, the band released their first single, "Scheat". Months after the release of their first single, Sug released their first EP entitled Love Scream Party. To promote their music outside of Japan, Sug performed at "J-Rock Invasion" in Germany alongsideKagrra, Kra, Alice Nine and Screw--all of whom are also signed to CLJ Records, a German label.

Mitsuru left Sug after their live on May 9, 2009. It is supposed that Mitsuru left citing creative differences to the remaining band members. Their support drummer at the time, Shinpei, became a full-time member of the band after Mitsuru's departure.

Following the announcement of their single "Gr8 Story," SuG announced their move onto major label PS Company during the live event called "SuG Fes 2009 Alternative POP Show ~ Vol.6" on November 30, 2009. "Gr8 Story" was released through Pony Canyon, and the title track was used as the ending song for the popular TV Tokyo anime Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn! According to the band, the song is "rather punkish", yet with a catchy tune and an "easy-listening appeal".

Their second studio album and their first album through Pony Canyon,Tokyo Muzical Hotel, was released on March 9, 2010.

Golden Bomber

The band was formed in 2004 by Vo-karu Kiryūin Shō and Gita- Kyan Yutaka. The band conception is "Hyper Giga Hybrid Super Subculture Visual Rock". Chimatsuri Teppei joined as the first drummer/keybordist, when later he left, Tenkujō Dankichi took the position of drummer. Utahiroba Jun joined as bassist on 22 April 2007. On 5 April 2009 Dankichi left the band, and on 10 April 2009 Darvish Kenji joined as a drummer.

The members, except Kiryūin Shō, don't play instruments, music recordings are done by professional musicians, as the members say themselves. Kiryūin Shō creates the music, the arrangements are mainly managed by "everset" tatsuo. During the lives Golden Bomber don't play their instruments, instead they dance and perform, show videos and act out dramas. Kiryūin Shō is the only one who alsways sings live. All musical activities of the band, including songs, music videos, promotional videos and performances, contain lots of parody on famous bands, artists, manga, self-parody and jokes. Nevertheless, each performance is thought over seriously and prepared thoroughly.

Their first single "Dakishimete Shwarz" was released on 1 May 2008, followed by 4 more consecutive singles.[3] The first albums "The Golden J-POPS" and "Renai Shuukyouron" were put on sale on 24 December 2007, the first live DVD was released the same day. In 2009 Golden Bomber had 12 consecutive oneman lives on the 1st day of each month and performed a country-wide 4646 tour. Their most famous song "Memeshikute" was released as single on 21 October 2009.

During 2010 they also continued with oneman lives (Oneman Kowai, Zenryoku Baka tours), and had a consecutive 12 month song releases on dwango.jp.[3] All the songs released on dwango were #1 in dwango daily rankings. In 2010 the band was due to perform at Shanghai Expo 2010, but because of some problems their performance in China was cancelled.[4]

The popularity of the band in general has hugely grown during 2010. To the end of 2010 Golden Bomber got major debut offers from 7 companies, but rejected them all, willing to stay "good-for-nothing" indies band and taking into consideration the feelings of their fans.[5][6]"Mata Kimi ni Bangou wo Kikenakatta" single reached #4 on Oricon weekly charts [1] and was ranked #3 in Oricon 2010 year top selling indies singles chart.[7] "Shimohanki Best" album was ranked #3 in Oricon weekly charts.[2]

In 2011 Golden Bomber continued with "Life is All Right" spring national tour (the initial name of the tour, "Isshou Baka (Lifetime Idiot)" was changed due to the erthquake and tsunami in Japan).[8] In July 2011 Golden Bomber performed at Japan Expo in Paris, France,[9] and in August had two lives in Seoul, South Korea. "Yareba Dekiru Ko" national tour is scheduled for autumn 2011.[10]

On 14th and 15th January 2012 Golden Bomber will perform in Nippon Budokan, and on 21th January - in Osaka-jō_Hall.

Golden Bomber also host a program on Nico Nico Douga. Besides, the members have collaborated with different artists not only from music, but also from fashion industry.[11]

As for now Golden Bomber have released 11 singles, 8 albums, 23 DVDs.
